• Robert L. Bailey provided outstanding leadership in the development of the Providence Plan for Quality Education, which helped lead to the desegregation of our school system. Mr. Bailey was Assistant Superintendent in the Providence School system from 1969-1973, as well as Project Coordinator for the National Education Program from 1973-1976. Serving as a Civil Rights Specialist for RIDE from 1973-1992, Mr. Bailey was also actively involved in the following organizations and initiatives:
