Judith D'Antuono

Judith (Judy) D'Antuono is the Assistant Principal at Dr. Jorge Alvarez High School. She has spent her entire educational career working in the Providence Public School District (PPSD). Judith was a middle school teacher for five years at Perry Middle School in Providence, and then took on a role as a School Counselor for 18 years. After her time as a School Counselor, she stepped into an Administrator role, which she's held for the last ten years.

Judy earned her Bachelor's degree in English and concentration in Secondary Education from Rhode Island College in Providence, Rhode Island. She received her Masters of Education degree in School Counseling from Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island, and then completed the Principal Residency Network.

As an educator, Judy aims to create an inclusive and stimulating environment that cultivates critical thinking, creativity, and a love for learning while helping students to reach their desired path in life. She aspires to impart foundational knowledge and skills and empower students to become life-long learners who can adapt to the ever-changing world, while positively impacting their communities and that world at large. Judy believes that education is a journey encompassing not only the acquisition of academic knowledge but emotional, social, physical, and ethical growth. She believes that valuing and celebrating each student's individuality and unique attributes is where the journey begins.

Judy is extremely excited about the new Healthcare and upcoming Finance pathways at Alvarez, and she believes that the staff will create an environment for students to reach high academic standards and develop the skills needed to become empathetic leaders in their future careers.

Robin Mathis

Robin earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary/Middle School Education from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. She received her Master's degree in School Psychology from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Robin went on to earn an Educational Specialist degree in Administrative Supervision and Policy (K-12) from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

As a devoted administrator, Robin has professional experience in Providence on all three levels: elementary, middle, and high school. Focused on academic achievement, she is also a strong advocate for engaging families and community partnerships. Robin is dedicated to fostering a positive, innovative, culturally responsive learning environment.

Robin's vision for Dr. Jorge Alvarez High School is to prepare students for college, a career, and a lifetime of learning. She believes in high expectations for all students, and that educators should use a growth mindset to celebrate students' diversity, embrace their challenges, help them learn from their mistakes, and encourage them to surround themselves with positive influences.
