Multi Language Learning (MLL)

  •  "English Language Learning"

The English Language Learner Department at Hopkins Middle School provides instruction to diverse learners from different cultures to target instruction in each of the four language domains: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. A variety of materials are used to increase growth in language including textbooks, novels/short stories, and digital programs. All of these materials are aligned to the WIDA Standards and the Common Core State Standards. As students demonstrate growth throughout the ELL program, they will be provided with increased rigorous instruction according to their language proficiency level. Students will exit the ELL program by obtaining proficiency in the English language, both socially and academically.
