    PPSD: Bradford Scholarship  

    This $750 scholarship, based on financial need and community involvement, is designed for college-bound senior high school students currently living in and attending a Providence public high school or alumni of Providence public schools who currently reside in the city and are enrolled at or are planning to attend a higher education institution.

    On June 22, 2008, nineteen year old Desiree Mesolella’s life was tragically taken due to a driver being impaired by both drugs and alcohol. Desiree’s amazing artistic abilities had earned her an Art Talent Scholarship at Adelphi University in Garden City, NY where she had just completed her sophomore year. 

    In Desiree’s memory, a 501C 3 non-profit has been established which annually awards two $5000.00 art scholarships to talented Rhode Island high school seniors who intend on continuing their edication in the area of visual art and design, as well as one annual $1000 art talent award awarded to a Rhode Island College art student. 

     

    Ellevation has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors who have been enrolled as an English Language Learner (ELL) at some point during their K-12 education and plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.
