Ariana Testa is the current Principal at Juanita Sanchez Educational Complex (JSEC). She has worked in education for over 15 years, all with the Providence Public School District (PPSD). Ariana began her educational career as an English teacher at Hope High School in 2004. She then moved over to Bridgham Middle School to serve as English Teacher Leader in 2010. The following school year, Ariana was hired at Juanita Sanchez to serve in the same capacity. She was then appointed Assistant Principal at JSEC in 2013, before becoming Principal at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year.

After graduating from Classical High School in 1998, Ariana earned her Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and English from Rhode Island College in Providence, Rhode Island. She returned in 2009 to continue her studies in school administration, earning her Masters of Education in Educational Leadership in May 2012. She also participated in the Barrington Cohort of the National Institute for School Leadership (NISL).

Ariana is a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), Rhode Island Association of School Principals (RIASP), the Association for Supervision & Curriculum Development; Educational Leadership (ASCD), and Learning Forward.

Empowering students for a dynamic future, there is a shared collective vision at JSEC where every graduate emerges as skilled, adaptable, and forward-thinking individual. That vision anchors the school's Redesign Plan through the expansion of our Biomedical CTE program, the shift to a linked learning model that involves both project-based learning and work-based learning, and a focus on real-world applications and industry-aligned learning. Our promise to the city of Providence is to cultivate a community of lifelong learners prepared to excel in diverse careers and contribute meaningfully to a dynamic global society.
