  • CONSTRUCTION CRAFT LABOR (GENERAL CONSTRUCTION)

    General Construction: Is a Craft Labor program where students will learn the basics of commercial, heavy highway and concrete construction and be prepared to take a union laborer construction job (LIUNA)  upon graduation. Our current focuses are masonry, framing and construction road safety. Our most recent project is the construction of a greenhouse on PCTA campus.  Uniform required and provided. Get up, dress up, show up.. and get paid!

  • Career Pathways  

    Direct Placement into a position as a construction laborer upon graduation with a recommendation (Grade of A). The starting wage is $24.50 and within 2 years it can grow to $35.00. In addition to these wages, there is a benefits package worth $27 per hour on top of wages. Former graduates from 2017 & 2018 already own homes and are so happy to have been trained not only for a job…. But a career!

    Direct Entry into the workforce:

    • Construction Laborer Apprentice 

    • Amtrak B&B Mechanic

    • Military Service

    • Gas and Generation Worker

    4 year + University Degree

    Our students have pursued degrees in the following areas instead of choosing to work after high school

    • Architecture

    • Civil or Environmental Engineer

    • Project Manager

    • Business Management



    Career Outlook

    General Construction (Craft Labor) will continue to respond to the needs of LiUNA’s workforce and provide training to fill these immediate positions. This will include certification and training on gas/ sewer/ water pipes  and underground construction techniques that are necessary to rebuild our infrastructure nationwide.
