    FAFSA INFORMATION

Free Application for Federal Financial Aid -- also known as FAFSA -- is the form most public and many private colleges and universities use to award federal financial aid. Many colleges also use data from the FAFSA to award their own funds.

Before you start to fill out your FAFSA form:

    1. Students and parents/guardians should create unique FSA IDs so they can sign their FAFSA forms electronically. It may take a day or two for an ID to become active. FSA ID applications are available online at

    2. Collect the following documents:

    • 2019 federal tax return for both parents and student
    • 2019 W-2s for both parents and student
    • Resident card number (if applicable)
    • Checking and savings account totals (parent and student)
    • Child support, SSDI or other untaxed income received each year
    • Total value of all investments, excluding retirement

The electronic FAFSA application is available at . Your high school guidance counselors are available and ready to help you and your families apply for financial aid. Please check with your school for events and supports to help your family with the financial aid process.
