    We are delighted that you have chosen Providence Public Schools. A strong educational foundation can lead to lifelong success. 

     

    To Register:

    • New to Providence?
      Click “”.  All requirements must be scanned and uploaded to the application.  Registrations submitted without requirements will not be processed.  A team member will follow up with a phone call to process the registration.  

    • Already have a student attending Providence Public Schools?
      Skyward

      If you have a Skyward parent portal, please log in with your username and password and use the New Student Online Enrollment option to submit a registration.

    Translating Skyward, the student registration and information system, into another language:

    1. Use Chrome Browser
    2. Go to any page in Skyward and right-click using your mouse or touchpad. The option to translate will show up in the menu.
    3. If you don't see your chosen language as an option, you may need to click on the three stacked dots to the right to see language options.
    4. You will need to do this for every page you visit.? Not working? Please visit this page for a video tutorial and further instructions.

     

    Important: When you register, you will be asked to upload copies of some key documents. Please scan or take a picture of these documents with your phone and upload them to the portal. 

    The following documents will be needed for the registration process:

    • Student Age Verification Document: Original birth certificate, passport, residency card, OR I-94
    • Parent/Guardian photo identification
    • Immunization Records
    • Physical Exam form
    • Proof of Providence Residency: Provide one of the following: Utility bill (not a cell phone or internet bill), pay stub, lease, bank statement-all dated within 60 days of registration
    • School records:  Most recent report card (Grades K-8) or Official High School transcript (Grades 9-12)
    • Students with special education services: All current Special Education paperwork 
    • Tuberculosis Screening Test: Students who have traveled outside of the United States for more than 90 days or who were born outside of the United States are required to show proof of tuberculosis screening 

    **Please note that some students may require testing to complete the registration process.

     

FAQs

    • How do I check the status of a school transfer request?

    Due to our upcoming peak season and to better serve you, all transfer request updates and submissions will be handled via email. All submissions and updates will be provided within a two-working-day period.

    To request a waitlist update please email: inforeg@ppsd.org. You must Include: Student Name, DOB or student ID in your request.

    • How do I request a school transfer?

      Transfer requests can be submitted by email:  inforeg@ppsd.org, fax 401-278-0553, text message:  401-420-7189.  You may submit your request in person at your child’s assigned school or the Registration Center. Please note that all completed forms be accompanied by parent photo id. You can find the Spanish version here.
    • How do I learn more about the schools?

      Families can use the school finder tools within to learn about schools across the district. The Family Information Tool helps families search for academic programs, compare schools and explore more within each school's profile.

    Please note that we will be operating on limited services from June 26th through June 28th. During these days, we will not be offering Immunization or Language Screenings. However, we will resume full services starting on July 1, 2024.
